Notes: I find the subjects of folklore, witchcraft and the supernatural to be utterly compelling, when told well, naturally. I saw Robert Eggers’ ‘The VVitch’ at the cinema and for many reasons, the experience was intensely memorable. Eggers diligently researches his subject matter to ensure historical authenticity in his movies. This combined with his cinematic sensibility creates truly atmospheric and carefully crafted storytelling.
